CAMP BGEN OSCAR M FLORENDO – Seventy four (74) personnel of Police Regional Office 1 (PRO1) and Police Regional Office-Cordillera finished the Air to Ground Operations Seminar (AGOS) and received their certificates during the closing ceremony held at the Concord Building here on August 19 (Wednesday).
Police Senior Superintendent Reynaldo G. Biay, PRO1’s Regional Chief of the Directorial Staff (RCDS), said the AGOS is designed to strengthen the interoperability and operational capability between the PNP and Philippine Air Force especially in times of combat and disaster response operations.
PSSupt. Biay said, the participants were taught on the basics of weather and meteorology, Load and Unload Procedure in an elevated aircraft, equipment used and phraseology in communication and Close Air Support.
“The participants were particularly taught on the proper discipline and concentration while on the aircraft, proper loading and unloading, how to communicate with the pilot and on how to identify landing zone during combat and disaster rescue operations,” PSSupt. Biay added.
Included in the seminar are practical exercises such as simulated aircraft controlling, heliborne operations and aircraft controlling with simulated target.
The four-day activity was spearheaded by Col. Dennis G. Estrella, the Tactical Operations Group Commander of Region 1 and Cordillera, Philippine Air Force in response with the government’s program to strengthen the inter-operability among public safety forces.
The AGOS was participated in by fifty-eight (58) police personnel of PRO1 and sixteen (16) from PROCOR.
