CAMP BGEN OSCAR M FLORENDO- Police Chief Superintendent Ericson T. Velasquez, Acting Regional Director of Police Regional Office 1 (PRO1) led his personnel in celebrating the 22nd PNP Ethics Day with the theme: “PNP’s Commitment to Genuine Transformation a Key to Achieving Public Trust and Excellent Service” held at the PRO1 Grandstand on Monday (January 4).
The occasion was coincided with the Traditional Monday Flag Raising and it was graced by Reverend Father Christmar I. Daguno, Vice Rector of the Military Ordinariate’s Domus Josephi Formation Center and who served as Guest of Honor and Speaker.
In his message, he stressed that genuine transformation in the PNP shall be visible wherein every member of the organization is involved, become compassionate and act like prophets who can announce good news and avoid evil.
“Ito ang susi ng genuine transformation, kapag may ginagawang masama ang kapwa pulis, suwayin; kapag may ginagawang mabuti, purihin; kapag medyo nakakalimot sa Diyos paalalahanin na may Diyos at Diyos na nagmamahal,” Rev. Father Daguno added.
He said that public trust achievement and excellent service denotes happiness, cooperation and faith. “Dear PRO1 Family, ipahalata ang pagbabago, ipadama ang pag-unawa, ipahayag ang kabutihan para tayong lahat ay may tunay na kagalakan, matibay na pagkakaisa at malalim na pananampalataya,” the GOH added.
Meanwhile, Rev. Fr. Daguno and PCSupt. Velasquez conferred the Medalya ng Kagalingan (PNP Merit Medal) to Police Chief Inspector Rex P. Infante, Police officer 3 Trifon M. Laxamana Jr. and PO1 Demar G. Garcia in recognition of their effort in the implementation of Warrant of Arrest against Edgar P. Balanay in Bogtong Silag, Mangatarem, Pangasinan who was charged for violation of Section 38 of Republic Act 10591.
The Ethics Day celebration was ended with a thanksgiving mass officiated by Rev. Fr. Daguno.
PCSupt. Velasquez likewise led this morning the simultaneous removal of gun muzzle tapes of the PNP service firearms. It was recalled that the service firearms of PRO1 personnel were taped on December 14, 2015 in support to the government’s campaign on “iwas paputok” during the yuletide season.
