CAMP BGEN OSCAR M FLORENDO- Police Chief Superintendent Gregorio R. Pimentel, Regional Director of Police Regional Office 1 (PRO1) conducted on Monday (February 6) the surprise inspection to all PRO1 personnel and to their personal vehicles as part of the PRO1’s initiative in carrying out the PNP’s internal cleansing program.

PCSupt. Pimentel said, he intended the unannounced inspection right after the flag raising ceremony to ensure 100 percent attendance of all personnel assigned at PRO1 headquarters to include those at Regional Support Units.

“This is our first move to check on you, to see to it that your personal bearing is in accordance with the directive of our Chief, PNP. We need to follow orders and take this internal cleansing seriously in our command to remove the scalawags in our organization and in so doing we will regain the trust and confidence of President Rodrigo Duterte,” PCSupt. Pimentel said

The inspection of police personnel to include the Non-Uniformed employees focused on checking the proper wearing of uniforms, proper grooming and prohibition of wearing expensive jewelries and accessories.

The 207 personal vehicles were also checked by Regional Highway Patrol Unit 1 (RHPU1). Photocopies of the OR-CRs of said vehicles were submitted to RHPU1 for validation to make sure that said vehicles were not involved in any anomalies and criminal activities.

“It is my appeal to everyone to cooperate in this effort at kapit-bisig nating ibalik ang tiwala ng mamamayan sa atin at sa ating organisasyon. Kung hindi natin gagawin ito ay wala tayong patutunguhan maging ang ating bansa,” PCsupt. Pimentel stressed.

PCSupt. Pimentel also directed the provincial directors of the four provinces of Pangasinan, La Union, Ilocos Sur and Ilocos Norte to conduct spot inspection of personnel in their AOR. He also added that by all means he will supervise the internal cleansing up to the lowest units of his command.

“This is our main concern and we need to act now to save the PNP and leave no stones unturned in this battle. As a matter of fact, I instructed my staff to expedite the review of cases of all members of PRO1 allegedly involved in illegal activities,” PCSupt. Pimentel added. ###
