CAMP BGEN OSCAR M FLORENDO –A total of 400 newly appointed police recruits virtually joins the simultaneous oath taking ceremony with the Chief of the Philippine National Police, Police General Archie Francisco F Gamboa via Zoom App early today, Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at San Roque Power Corporation, Brgy San Roque, San Manuel, Pangasinan.
The Chief of the Philippine National Police, Police General Archie Francisco F Gamboa administered their oath of office and congratulated them for passing the rigid screening process set by the PNP and strictly implemented by the Regional Screening Committee (RSC).
PBGen Azurin stressed the importance of their transformation from purely civilians to police officers as well as reminding them to train hard in order to be physically, mentally and spiritually prepared for the hardships of police works, and to become professional and competent public servants who possess high standard of morality and discipline.
“Be forewarned that, in our work as law enforcers, we are expected to be always on the move, always on our guard, in order to keep the communities safe 24/7, especially now that we are facing probably the greatest battle of this generation, the unforeseen enemy, the Covid-19,” PBGen Azurin said.
“It is not by accident that you are here today. It’s not also by chance but rather it is a choice. Pinili niyong maging pulis. Pinili niyong pumasok dito. Whatever your motivations are, whatever your inspirations are, whatever your purposes are, you are now members of the Philippine National Police. So bear that in mind na ang trabaho ng pulis ay hindi madali,” he further averred.
The Regional Director also emphasized to the recruits his program thrusts in the whole Region 1: Malasakit + Kaayusan+ Kapayapaan= Kaunlaran and encouraged them to help one another. “Try to uplift one another because this is a very unique experience. You came from the different walks of life,” he added
He also reiterated that the police recruits will be trained with organizational behaviors on following simple yet complicated directives that will test their patience and wise use of judgment.
The 400 police recruits composed of 60 females and 340 males will stay in SRPC for their militaristic phase and will later on be transferred to the Regional Training Center 1 (RTC1) in Aringay, La Union for the continuation of their Basic Recruit Course.
A Patrolman, the lowest rank in the PNP Organization will be receiving a monthly basic pay of P29, 668.00 exclusive of allowances while undergoing training. ###
