CAMP BGEN OSCAR M FLORENDO- Police Chief Superintendent Benjamin T. Hulipas, Officer-in-Charge of Police Regional Office 1(PRO1) and concurrent Deputy Regional Director for Administration (DRDA) administered on August 17 (Monday) the mass oath-taking and donning of ranks of Five Hundred Thirty-Four (534) newly-promoted police personnel here at PRO1 Grandstand.

Of the 534 promoted personnel, twenty-one were Police Commissioned Officers (PCOs) and 513 were Police Non-Commissioned Officers (PNCOs) assigned in different police units of Region 1.

In his message, he congratulated the successful personnel and emphasized that their promotion does not only implies more authority; it means for greater responsibility that needs more responsive career development to adequately meet the demands of higher positions appropriate to their new ranks.

“Habang tumataas ang ating ranko, kaakibat nito ang pagtaas din ng ating tungkulin. Dahil dito, dapat tayong maging mas maingat sa ating mga kilos, salita at maging mas masigasig sa pagpapatupad ng ating tungkulin. At kayong mga napromote ay magsilbi sanang gabay sa ating mga kapwa pulis. In short, lead by example,” the OIC, PRO1 added.

Police Senior Superintendent Belli B. Tamayo, Chief of the PRO1’s Regional Personnel and Human Resource Development Division (RPHRDD), said of the PCOs two (2) were promoted to Police Chief Inspector (PCInsp), 16 for Police Senior Inspector (PSInsp.) and three (3) for Police Inspector (PInsp.).

For the PNCOs, 69 were promoted to Senior Police Officer 4 (SPO4), ten (10) for SPO3, 157 for SPO2, 47 for SPO1, 152 for Police Officer 3 and 78 for PO2.

According to PSSupt. Tamayo, a total of 2,047 personnel applied for promotion. The screening criteria included the Qualification Standards such as time in grade, education, training and eligibility; seniority; individual performance evaluation rating (IPER); awards; post graduate degree; interview; drug test, and work behavior and performance appraisal (WBPA).
